Under the guiding theme of Wayfinding, SECAC 2024 will be designed by artists, scholars, designers, and educators from across the Atlanta region. Wayfinding, a term originally coined to describe modes of environmental design and navigation, is evoked here as a generative concept that extends far beyond physical spaces. Our conference seeks to unravel the intricacies of wayfinding across intersections of technology, cognition, culture, and design. Through presentations, discussions, exhibitions, and more, we will consider the nuanced ways we navigate intellectual and creative landscapes. 

Sessions may take various forms, including but not limited to the following: a collection of presenters selected from the call for papers; a panel of pre-selected speakers curated by the chair; a round table discussion between invited speakers and the audience. Other creative approaches to the session format are also welcome. Each prospective chair or co-chair may submit only one proposal; each conference participant may chair one session and may present one paper. Undergraduate students are not permitted to serve as session chairs. If you plan to present at the same session for which you are serving as chair, you must submit an abstract during the call for papers open period, scheduled for March 1 – May 1, 2024.
